CBL Samaposha joins hands with Sri Lanka Squash Federation

CBL Samaposha, the Nutrition provider for the nation, joined hands with the Sri Lanka Squash Federation to become the official nutrition partner for its National and Development pool players. With the rigorous training and practicing undertaken by the players in this high intensity sport, it is imperative that a significant portion of their food intake consists of substantial nutrition. CBL Samaposha plays a key role in promoting better nutrition habits in Sri Lanka and promoting healthier and happier communities. This collaboration between Samaposha and the National Squash Federation is aimed at developing the sport of Squash in Sri Lanka and providing more opportunities for our athletes to shine.

As the official nutrition partner for these young athletes, CBL Samaposha will provide 4GB cereal bars and other nutritious products from the CBL Samaposha product portfolio to the National and Development pool players during training, local tournaments and overseas tours. These products are aimed at supplementing the daily nutrition needs of these players and to support better nutrition intake.  CBL Samaposha and the Federation are also in discussion to identify potential development opportunities and investment to uplift the sport in Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka Squash is executing a 5-year plan to develop the next generation of athletes to compete in the Asian and the Commonwealth Games on a global platform and is currently training a 15-member team of top ranked players with a focus not just on court skills but also towards the fitness and endurance of its players.

Universities around the world, including Ivy League institution in the USA, have recognized Squash as a major sport and it is one of the fastest growing sports in Asia. Sri Lanka’s players have excelled in the international arena winning medals in the Youth Commonwealth Games, International Junior events, South Asian Games and at the Asian and Commonwealth Games. Many of these young talented Squash players have been awarded scholarships to some of the most prestigious global universities including Harvard University, Yale University, Mount Holyoke College and National University of Singapore.
