Elephant House Ice Cream launches new flavours and formats with Extrusion technology

In a defining leap for Sri Lanka’s FMCG landscape, Elephant House Ice Cream has unveiled a new generation of products under its Elephant House Wonder and IMORICH brands, powered by advanced Extrusion Technology. This landmark investment by Ceylon Cold Stores PLC (CCS) strengthens the company’s manufacturing capabilities while setting a new benchmark for texture, structure, and indulgence in the local ice cream category.

Installed at CCS’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at the BOI Zone in Avissawella, the new extrusion line enables precision layering, indulgent cores, rich inclusions, defined shapes, and premium chocolate coatings at scale. The technology unlocks innovative formats including cakes, logs, and frozen sandwiches, delivering a multi-textured, global-standard experience comparable to leading international brands.

For decades, Elephant House Ice Cream has shaped Sri Lanka’s ice cream industry through continuous investment in quality and innovation. While Elephant House Wonder has driven category growth by making joyful indulgence accessible to households nationwide, IMORICH was introduced to meet rising aspirations for premium, world-class experiences. The introduction of extrusion technology marks the next chapter in strengthening both portfolios and future-proofing product development.

Daminda Gamlath, President, John Keells Consumer Foods Sector, stated, “This investment reflects our long-term commitment to elevating Sri Lanka’s manufacturing excellence and delivering international-quality experiences to local consumers. Through continuous innovation and technology adoption, we aim to lead the evolution of the ice cream category while strengthening our competitiveness in both mass and premium segments.”

With further portfolio expansions and bold flavour innovations already in the pipeline, Elephant House Ice Cream continues to shape the future of indulgence in Sri Lanka.
