DIMO Healthcare Installs Sri Lanka’s First Deep Resolve AI-equipped MRI Scanner at Hemas Hospital Thalawathugoda

DIMO Healthcare has successfully completed the installation of the Siemens Healthineers MAGNETOM Sola 1.5T MRI system at Hemas Hospital Thalawathugoda, marking the installation of Sri Lanka’s first MRI system equipped with Deep Resolve AI technology from Siemens Healthineers. The installation is backed by DIMO Healthcare’s dedicated service support, ensuring maximum operational efficiency.

Deep Resolve is an AI-powered image reconstruction technology that uses deep learning to reduce noise and enhance image quality and resolution. It can reduce scan times by up to 73% and offer double the resolution of conventional scanning techniques. By supporting shorter scan times and reducing the potential for motion-related image degradation, Deep Resolve AI makes a significant improvement in the overall patient experience during an MRI scan.

Wijith Pushpawela, Executive Director of DIMO, said, “The installation of the country's first MRI system with Deep Resolve technology marks a significant milestone in the expansion of Sri Lanka's diagnostic imaging capabilities. Our role extends beyond supplying technology. From installation and commissioning to application training and ongoing technical support, we work closely with healthcare providers to ensure advanced medical systems are effectively integrated into clinical practice.”

Dr. Lakith Peiris, Managing Director of Hemas Hospitals & Laboratory Chain, said, “At Hemas Hospital Thalawathugoda, we continue to invest in technology that improves our capacity to deliver accurate and timely diagnostic care. This cutting-edge MRI system brings better care to our patients and provides our healthcare professionals with access to advanced diagnostic tools. We are excited about the value this technology will bring to patient care and are happy to have worked with DIMO Healthcare to implement it in our hospital.”

The MAGNETOM Sola incorporates BioMatrix Technology, which automatically adjusts to each patient's individual anatomy and physiology. Its clinical applications include neurological, cardiac, vascular, abdominal, pelvic, breast, musculoskeletal, and oncological imaging. The UltraFlex coils supplied with the system are soft, flexible, high-channel coils that provide high-resolution imaging and improved patient comfort. Together with BioMatrix, they help the system adapt to each patient's requirements for a comfortable and stress-free experience.

The system supports a wide range of advanced imaging applications, including brain and spine examinations, cardiac MRI, vascular imaging, MRCP, prostate and breast imaging, and whole-body examinations. Dedicated metal artifact reduction sequences also support examinations of patients with MR-conditional implants and orthopedic hardware.

The MAGNETOM Sola also incorporates energy-saving features designed to reduce the system’s energy consumption. Through technologies including Eco Power Mode, scanner shutdown when not in use, and Deep Resolve, the system can achieve energy savings of approximately 40%, supporting more sustainable MRI operations.

With over 65 years of expertise in Sri Lanka's healthcare industry, DIMO Healthcare will provide end-to-end service support for this installation, ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of the MRI system. Backed by a well-established service infrastructure and close collaboration with Siemens Healthineers, DIMO Healthcare ensures efficient equipment maintenance, giving Hemas Hospital the confidence to operate the MRI at its optimal capacity and helping healthcare professionals deliver timely and accurate diagnoses to patients.

With the installation now complete, DIMO Healthcare and Hemas have now added the first Deep Resolve-enabled MRI to Sri Lanka’s healthcare infrastructure, bringing advanced, high-quality healthcare solutions closer to patients, delivering better care to our community.
