Meta recently launched its Small Business Growth Academy in Sri Lanka in partnership with Roar AdX, bringing practical digital marketing knowledge to entrepreneurs looking to reach more customers and grow their businesses.
Presided over by Hon. Chathuranga Abeysinghe, Deputy Minister of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development, the launch brought together government and Meta representatives alongside local entrepreneurs who are clients of Roar AdX to discuss how small businesses can participate more effectively in the digital economy. Meta’s platform insights were complemented by business owners’ experiences of building brands on Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, grounding the discussion in the opportunities and challenges facing Sri Lankan enterprises. Through Roar AdX, these entrepreneurs had the opportunity to engage directly with Meta representatives, share their perspectives and learn about the latest tools and developments to support their growth.
The Academy forms part of Meta’s rollout across 12 Asia-Pacific markets, with the programme already introduced in countries including Pakistan, Malaysia and Indonesia. It aims to help entrepreneurs put digital and AI-enabled tools to practical use, with training covering advertising, Reels, WhatsApp for Business and reaching customers across borders.
In Sri Lanka, the partnership brings together Meta’s platform expertise with Roar AdX’s on-ground experience in supporting local advertisers. As Meta’s platform advertising partner in the country, Roar AdX contributes an understanding of the customers, budgets and commercial realities that shape how Sri Lankan small businesses use these tools.
For entrepreneurs managing limited time and resources, knowing how to reach relevant audiences, handle enquiries and assess advertising results can make a meaningful difference to business performance. The Academy aims to build that confidence and capability, helping small businesses translate their presence on Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp into opportunities for growth.
