Sri Lanka’s Hemas Holdings’ major shareholders willing to let more local, foreign investments

Hemas Holdings PLC is to issue over 57.25 million ordinary shares by way of a 1 to 9 rights issue.

Meanwhile, major shareholders in Hemas Holdings PLC have stated that reputed domestic and international institutional investors have sent strong expressions of interest to become shareholders of the company to increase their existing shareholdings. Hence, the major shareholders have decided not to subscribe to their rights to enable these interested parties to increase their shareholdings in the company so as to further broad-base its owner and increase its liquidity.

The major shareholders of Hemas Holdings PLC say they remain fully committed towards the ongoing success of the company and consider this rights issue as an important step in the capital base of this business and providing funds for the growth of the company.
