United Motors Lanka PLC Achieves Highest-Ever Profit of Rs. 3.6 Billion for FY2025/26

United Motors Lanka PLC announced a strong financial performance for the year ended 31 March 2026, recording a sharp recovery in profitability and revenue across both Group and Company levels after the lifting of the import ban.

Group revenue for the year reached Rs. 52.36 billion, compared to Rs. 11.77 billion in the previous year, marking an increase of Rs. 40.58 billion and a growth of 345 percent. Company revenue grew to Rs. 25.77 billion from Rs. 6.33 billion, reflecting an increase of Rs. 19.44 billion and a growth of 307 percent.

For the financial year, UML Group reported a profit of Rs. 3.61 billion, compared to Rs. 73 million in the previous year, reflecting an increase of Rs. 3.54 billion and a growth of 4,847 percent. At Company level, United Motors Lanka PLC recorded a profit of Rs. 2.20 billion, up from Rs. 338 million in the previous year, representing an increase of Rs. 1.86 billion and a growth of 551 percent.

The performance was primarily supported by the recovery in vehicle sales following the reopening of vehicle imports, along with the continued momentum in after-sales operations and the export of locally manufactured trailers through Dutch Lanka Trailers.

Having a diversified portfolio, ranging from entry-level passenger vehicles to SUVs, as well as a range of commercial vehicles including trucks and buses, helped capture demand across different segments.

With a strengthened operational base, a diversified product offering, and improving market conditions, United Motors Lanka PLC enters the new financial year well positioned to sustain growth and deliver long-term value to shareholders and customers.
