No Volatility in Stock Market - Deputy Finance Minister Assures Parliament

Deputy Minister of Finance and Planning Dr. Anil Jayantha Fernando addressed parliament, assuring that there is no volatility in the Colombo Stock Exchange despite temporary market fluctuations.

Addressing parliament this morning (22), Dr. Fernando explained that temporary fluctuations can occur from time to time across stock markets, primarily driven by changes in interest rates.

He acknowledged that while recent interest rate adjustments have led to some observable market drops, the Colombo Stock Exchange is not experiencing broader volatility.

Reassuring parliament and the public, the Deputy Minister emphasized that the stock market is expected to recover from these temporary drops over time, affirming its underlying stability.
