TikTok releases Q2 2026 Community Guidelines Enforcement Report

TikTok has today released its Q2 2026 Community Guidelines Enforcement Report, highlighting the platform’s ongoing commitment to creating a safe digital space for its users. The report covers data from April to June 2026 and details the proactive steps TikTok has taken to identify and remove content that violates its Community Guidelines. These measures aim to ensure a positive experience for its global community.

In Q2 2026, TikTok removed a total of 430,357 videos in Sri Lanka for violating its Community Guidelines. This represented approximately 0.5% of all content uploaded to the platform. TikTok proactively identified and removed 99.4% of these videos before users reported them. Of the proactively removed videos, 93.9% were taken down within 24 hours of posting, while 12,960 videos were later restored to the platform.

Globally, TikTok removed over 188 million (188,298,141) videos during this quarter, which represents about 0.5% of all content uploaded to the platform. Of the removed videos, 183,344,707 were detected and taken down using automated detection technologies, while 6,262,383 videos were reinstated after further review.

During the same period, TikTok continued using its automated moderation technologies to identify and remove content that violated its Community Guidelines. Globally, a total of 278,384,463 comments were removed during the quarter, compared with 237,517,128 in Q1 2026. The platform also removed 146,807,400 fake accounts during the quarter. An additional 26,840,767 accounts suspected of belonging to users under the age of 13 were removed to help protect younger users.

The report provides further details on the types of content removed for violating TikTok’s policies. Sensitive or mature themes accounted for 19.5% of removed videos. Another 13.7% violated the platform’s safety and civility standards. Of the removed videos, 13.5% were identified as containing dangerous activities and challenges, and 13.8% involved body exposure and sexualized behaviors. Meanwhile, 1.8% of the videos removed were flagged as edited media and AI-generated content (AIGC).
