Sri Lanka Insurance General and PVI Insurance host GIPA Award Ceremony 2026 in Vietnam, Hanoi

-Ceremony honoured Sri Lankan and Vietnamese GIPA winners redefining sales excellence with focus on business quality and profitability

Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation General Ltd. (SLICGL) hosted the General Insurance Pinnacle Award (GIPA) Ceremony 2026 in partnership with PVI Insurance Corporation, Vietnam, honouring outstanding performers from both companies for excellence in General Insurance salesmanship.

The 3rd GIPA Award Ceremony was held on 9 October 2026 on the 20th floor of PVI Tower, the head office of PVI Insurance Corporation in Hanoi. SLICGL’s delegation included 40 Sri Lankan GIPA winners, who joined the winners from PVI Insurance Corporation, along with their supervisors and the senior management teams of PVI Insurance Corporation and Hanoi-Re. With over 100 participants, GIPA Awards 2026 was a memorable celebration of achievement, camaraderie and international collaboration.

PVI Insurance Corporation, the market leader in Vietnam’s General (Non-Life) Insurance industry, served as Strategic Host Partner for the ceremony. Guided by the vision of Mr. Dương Thanh Danh, Chairman of PVI Insurance Corporation and Vice Chairman of PVI Holdings, the leadership team of PVI, led by CEO Mr. Phạm Anh Đức and Dep CEO Ms. Le Hong Linh, joined forces with SLICGL to propel the GIPA concept forward. The management of Hanoi Re, a company within the PVI group, also joined the ceremony to celebrate the winners, including Hanoi Re’s own award winners.

In recognizing their own top performers alongside SLICGL’s winners, PVI Insurance Corporation’s presence contributed to greater professional exchange, industry connection and cooperation within the General Insurance community.

Together, these two market leaders celebrated a new era of excellence in salesmanship. The partnership acknowledged top-line volume is no longer the sole metric of success. Instead, GIPA stands out as a strategic business quality award shifting the focus toward long-term performance, healthy combined operating ratios, and robust profitability.

Demanding a synchronized focus on growth, retention, and bottom-line health, GIPA serves as the catalyst, the shift evolves the traditional sales drive into a sustainable, long-term strategy. Ultimately, the initiative excels individual recognition to elevate regional industry benchmarks, ensuring professional sales excellence is measured by the actual value and profitability it brings to the business.

Importantly, the third edition of GIPA continued its momentum in Hanoi with the participation of Ms. Champa Mellawa, Managing Director/CEO of J B Boda & Reinsurance Brokers Lanka and JB Boda & Co (Singapore), and with the endorsement of industry leaders from Indonesia and Singapore. In a key move, driving regional collaboration, Sri Lanka’s insurance regulator, the Insurance Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (IRCSL) facilitated the introduction of the GIPA concept to Vietnam’s insurance regulator, who joined the gathering.

Launched in 2023, GIPA is an international recognition program for top General Insurance sales achievers, rewarding sustainable excellence and business quality. The inaugural ceremony took place in Malaysia in November 2024 for SLICGL winners, facilitated by J B Boda Sri Lanka. The program expanded in November 2025 with its second ceremony in Jakarta, Indonesia, honouring winners from both Sri Lanka and Indonesia in partnership with J B Boda Indonesia.

Hosting overseas winners, SLICGL reaffirms the commitment to global collaboration and industry excellence, transforming GIPA into the premier international platform for sales distinction.

To further sustain the momentum, SLICGL honoured GIPA winners at both the Annual Awards Ceremony and the exclusive 'GIPA Day', an annual event designed to inspire aspirants to make sustainable excellence an inevitable reality, symbolized by the prestigious GIPA Achiever statues.
