JXG honoured for excellence in professional growth at SLITAD People Development Awards 2025/26

JXG (Janashakthi Group) was recently honoured at the People Development Awards 2025/26, organised by the Sri Lanka Institute of Training and Development (SLITAD), with the Group and its core subsidiaries securing awards at the ceremony held at Marino Beach Hotel, Colombo.

JXG and First Capital Holdings PLC were each presented with a Gold Award, while Janashakthi Finance PLC and Janashakthi Insurance PLC each received a Silver Award, reaffirming the strength of the Group’s investment in its people across every business. The Group’s triumph at People Development Awards 2025/26 validates its longstanding commitment to building an internal culture that encourages capability at scale, refines employee skills, and prepares the next generation of leaders while making learning a functional part of everyday work.

Discussing the achievement, Wasanthi Stephen, Group Chief Human Resources Officer at JXG, said, “We are immensely proud to be recognised at the People Development Awards. These accolades reflect a shared belief across every operation of the Group that every investment in our people is an investment in our future. By aligning learning, leadership development, and engagement with our business priorities, we endeavour to build capable and confident teams who are ready to drive performance and innovation.”

Central to the recognition is the Group’s approach of aligning people development with business priorities, supported by structured learning and development initiatives, leadership development, employee engagement, and continuous capability building. This approach has enabled JXG to nurture a culture of collaboration, innovation, and performance improvement across its entities.

The Group’s entry for the Awards was examined across the full people development cycle, from how JXG’s learning strategies connect with its business strategies, to how people are managed, led, recognised, involved and empowered.  Furthermore, it examined how metrics for staff performance are used to refine skills over time. Supporting evidence, best practices, and the effect on organisational performance were also presented alongside the entry.

The recognition of the Group and each of its subsidiaries underscores the consistency of JXG’s people development framework, and its seamless integration of best practices across Janashakthi Insurance, Janashakthi Finance, and First Capital, marking a meaningful milestone for the Group as it continues to elevate workplace culture while driving sustainable business performance across its diverse entities.
