Status of Polduwa bridge near Waters Edge in Battaramulla

An additional three lanes and a 10 feet wide walkway for pedestrians on either sides of the bridge are to be added to the Polduwa bridge being constructed on the main road near Waters Edge in Battaramulla, say its contractors Access Engineers.
Access Engineers Managing Director Christopher Joshua told AdaderanaBiz that once the work on the bridge is completed it would carry six lanes for traffic including the already constructed three.
“We expect to complete the construction by end this year. This bridge is being built to allow boats to pass easily from underneath,” he added.
The construction work on this bridge began in August 2013 and the estimated cost is Rs. 695million.
