HNBF enhances financial literacy among MSMEs through workshop in Chilaw

Sri Lanka’s leading integrated financial services provider HNB FINANCE PLC recently held its second Financial Literacy Workshop of the year for micro, small and medium entrepreneurs (MSMEs) in Chilaw.

The Workshop was held at Sri Vijayarama Viharaya-Colombo Road, Chilaw, and saw the participation of 100 individuals, consisting of both members and non-members. Participants were given financial literacy booklets to help them keep track of their personal and business finances, and HNBF Chilaw branch staff were present to act as mentors to provide guidance in for the participants in the future.

The occasion was also attended by HNBF Head of Marketing Udara Gunasinghe, HNBF Training Head Anura Udawatta, HNBF Chilaw Senior Branch Manager Rasika Premalal, as well as other members from HNBF’s Marketing and Training teams and Branch Staff, who also expressed their support towards a successful outcome through this programme.

“Most of our products and services in our portfolio are focused to fund and enrich customers in micro, small and medium scales, while also actively encouraging their savings habits. Now, with this programme, we are also bringing financial literacy and awareness to our vast customer base, to maximize their potential which would while helping them grow, also contribute towards a sustainable and secure economy,” he added.

This programme, is part of a series of monthly workshops scheduled to be held across the island. Its goal is to raise awareness on, and enhance financial literacy among MSMEs, as intended through HNBF’s Economic Sustainability Strategy of creating financial inclusivity.
