Sri Lanka Economic Summit 2023 Announces Key Session on Accelerating Growth through Unlocking Trade & Investment

The third session of the Sri Lanka Economic Summit 2023 conducted by The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce on 28th and 29th November will center around exploring how Sri Lanka can capitalize on its strategic location and implement a "+1 strategy" to boost trade and investment.

Titled "Accelerating Growth through Unlocking Trade & Investment," this session will look at the  experiences of other nations that have successfully navigated crises to usher in vital trade and investment reforms. Participants will gain valuable insights into Sri Lanka's potential to accelerate its exports and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) trajectory, focusing on the Vietnamese perspective, widely hailed for its successful economic transformation.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Huy, Deputy General Director of HoaSen Group, Vietnam, will serve as the presenter, offering a unique perspective from Vietnam. Session panelists comprise leading figures in key sectors, including Mr. Krishan Balendra, Chairman of John Keells Holdings PLC, Dr. Parakrama Dissanayake, Deputy Chairman and Managing Director of Aitken Spence PLC, Mr. Vinod Hirdaramani, Chairman of Hirdaramani Group, Ms. Hajar Alafifi, Chairperson and Managing Director of Unilever Sri Lanka PLC, and Mr. Revan Wickramasuriya, Chief Operating Officer and Director Financial Services and Compliance of the Colombo Port City Economic Commission. Mr. Shamindra Kulamanage, Co-founder and Chief Editor of Echelon Media, will moderate the discussion.

This session is a prime opportunity for attendees to understand how leading conglomerates in Sri Lanka are planning to contribute to the nation's economic growth and the factors they deem essential enablers of this growth.
