Challenges in C-Suite & Leadership

October, 30, 2023

These days we see several things happening in the corporate world in many parts of our planet. One thing for sure is, our world is evolving rapidly and new technology is developing fast.

Some companies are looking at the four-day week, hybrid structure & flexible working environments. But challenges are mounting as some CEOs are looking at bringing their employees back to office on a full-time basis. Leadership is a continuous learning process that organisations & people need to focus on. And empathy in leadership is something that needs to be put into practice, as employees’ mental well-being is essential. Being a C-Suite Member or Board Director is always challenging, as it’s never easy at the top. Effective management & leadership qualities are vital for organisations to thrive. And not to forget that respecting cultures, traditions and creating a gender-neutral working environment is highly important (including disabled people).

The Ceylon Institute Of English & Leadership (CIOEL) is focused on skills-based education in Business English, Sustainability and Leadership. Apart from that they focus on leadership and sustainability podcasts, which are available on Google Podcasts, YouTube, and other platforms.

Recently Watson Michael, Director of CIOEL and John Jeffcock, Chief Executive of Winmark (a company based in the UK) discussed via a podcast about: what C-Suite Leaders lack, qualities of C-Suite Leaders, views on the work-from-home model and the most challenging thing that Jeffcock faced. Furthermore, Jeffcock is the author of ‘The Suite Spot: Reaching, Leading and Delivering the C-Suite.’

The purpose of Winmark is "To inspire the global C-Suite to create value for all" and they do this through transforming the impact of individuals and boosting organisations on their journey to achieve their own purpose, leaving a legacy they can be proud of.  Winmark has been called many things, a market disruptor, an EdTech, a government influencer, a pioneer of C-Suite networks, an executive education business and more.  All of these are partially right, yet their focus on value creation through transforming current and future C-Suites has been their constant goal.  They do this through running C-Suite networks in some of the world’s leading organisations, these networks include CEO, COO, CFO, CLO, CHRO, CIO, CMO and ten others. The members join a programme that places them at the heart of a C-Suite ecosystem and they receive world-class events, know-how and personal development.
