Celebrating 10 Years of Workplace Excellence: Great Place to Work® Sri Lanka Honors the Best 50 Workplaces

Great Place to Work® Sri Lanka recently celebrated a decade of recognizing exceptional workplaces. During this milestone event, industry leaders came together to honor their ten-year dedication to fostering trust, collaboration, and employee engagement in their organizations.

Among the evenings' highlights was the unveiling of the 50 Best Workplaces™ in Sri Lanka, a prestigious list that pays tribute to organizations that have made remarkable progress in establishing environments that truly qualify as Great Workplaces For All. The recognition, based on rigorous assessment and feedback from employees, signifies the commitment of these organizations to not just business success but also to the welfare and development of their workforce.

Kshanika Ratnayaka, Director and CEO of Great Place to Work® Sri Lanka, shared her thoughts on this significant milestone citing "As we celebrate our 10th year of operation in Sri Lanka, we are immensely proud to witness the growth of the Great Place to Work movement in this beautiful country. The 50 Best Workplaces™ in Sri Lanka, have set a benchmark for excellence."

In the category of 10 Large Workplaces (1000 employees), among prominent organizations in Sri Lanka, Gamma Pizzakraft Lanka (Pvt) Ltd was ranked No. 1. In the category of 10 Medium Workplaces (501 – 1000 employees), Dankotuwa Porcelain PLC was positioned as No. 1. Within the category of 20 Small Workplaces in Sri Lanka (101 – 500 employees), DHL Keells (Pvt) Ltd captured the No. 1 rank. The Special Category Awards recognized outstanding achievements across various themes, DHL (Keells) Pvt Ltd secured the title of Best Multinational Corporation (MNC), whilst Dankotuwa Porcelain Pvt Ltd was celebrated as the Best Public Limited Company (PLC). SYNERGEN Health (Pvt) Ltd and Singer Finance PLC both earned the prestigious 5 Years Legend award, underscoring their remarkable consistency of being listed 5 years consecutively. Oxford College of Business (Pvt) Ltd achieved a remarkable milestone by receiving the esteemed 10 Years Legend award. The Cube Award for Best in Bold Acts of Leadership was claimed by Talawakelle Tea Estates PLC, acknowledging their courageous drive for community development. Moreover, practice awards were also presented, with Amsafe Bridport (Pvt) Ltd being recognized for Excellence in 'Leadership Effectiveness' and AIA Insurance Lanka Limited for Excellence in 'Maximizing Human Potential.' These awards collectively celebrated excellence in creating and sustaining great workplace culture.

The 50 organizations covered various sectors, from technology and logistics to hospitality and manufacturing, showcasing the diversity and inclusivity of the Great Place to Work initiative. These organizations have demonstrated a commitment to fostering a positive workplace culture that values credibility, respect and fairness.

Michael C. Bush, the Global CEO of Great Place to Work®, extended a congratulatory message to all attendees, whilst Prasenjit Bhattacharya, the Co-Founder and CEO of Great Manager Institute, delivered a captivating speech on the topic of Workplace Heroes, sharing valuable insights.

Additionally, Ruwani Alwishewa, the Head of Assessment and Client Services at Great Place to Work® Sri Lanka, provided attendees with illuminating insights from the Best Workplaces™ Study, offering a glimpse into the evolving landscape of workplace culture in Sri Lanka.
