Value Added Tax (Amendment) Bill passed in Parliament by majority vote

The Value Added Tax (Amendment) Bill was passed in Parliament today (11) by a majority vote.
Following the Committee Stage on the Appropriation Bill 2024, the Second Reading of the Value Added Tax (Amendment) Bill was passed in parliament.
Accordingly, in the voting for the Second Reading of the Bill held at around 4.35 pm, 98 votes were cast in favor and 41 votes were cast against. Accordingly, the Second Reading of the Bill was passed by a majority of 57 votes.
Then amendments were added to the Bill during the Committee Stage.
Today at around 4.58 pm, during the voting for the Third Reading of the Bill, 100 votes were cast in favor of it and 55 votes were cast against it. Accordingly, the Value Added Tax (Amendment) Bill was passed with amendments by a majority of 45 votes.
Meanwhile, the Third Reading of the Finance Bill, was also passed without amendment in Parliament today (11).
Subsequently, the Supplementary estimate was also approved in Parliament.
