During a meeting with a group of Sri Lankan journalists at the Adani Group’s global corporate headquarters in Ahmedabad, Anil Sardana, Managing Director & CEO of Adani Energy Solutions Limited, emphasized Sri Lanka's significant potential in renewable energy. Sardana, who also heads the Sri Lanka wind project, highlighted the country’s ability to harness solar, wind, and pumped hydro storage to deliver consistent, traceable green energy 24/7.

"Sri Lanka can leverage its solar, wind, and hydro resources to produce competitive green energy," Sardana stated. He suggested that Sri Lanka should also focus on creating and exporting byproducts like green hydrogen and ethanol. "Exporting these byproducts can generate surplus revenue and benefit the people through royalties," he added.

Sardana's remarks underscore the economic and environmental benefits of investing in renewable energy, presenting a pathway for Sri Lanka to enhance its energy security and economic growth.
