The Travel Agents Association of Sri Lanka (TAASL) proudly announces the election of its new leadership and Executive Council following its 49th Annual General Meeting held recently in Jakarta, Indonesia. Mr. Shanaka Fernando of Yenesha Travels (Pvt) Ltd has been elected as the President of the Association for the term 2024/2025.
In his address, Mr. Fernando highlighted TAASL’s enduring strength and shared his vision to transform challenges into opportunities for the association. A key priority during his tenure will be ensuring that TAASL continues to be a dynamic force within the travel industry, advocating for its members while staying adaptable in a rapidly changing environment.
Committed to member empowerment, Mr. Fernando expressed his dedication to enhancing professional development opportunities. By investing in education, he emphasized, “we empower our workforce and equip our teams with the skills and knowledge they need to excel. Our success lies in our people, and by nurturing talent, we will continue to strengthen our industry.”
Joining Mr. Fernando in leadership, Ms. Sonali Wijesurendra of Delair Travels (Pvt) Ltd was elected as the Senior Vice President, and Ms. Chamila Wijethunge of Acorn Travels (Pvt) Ltd as the Junior Vice President for the period 2024/2025.
