Central Finance Joins S&P SL20 Index, Replacing Distilleries Company

The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) has announced a key change to the S&P Sri Lanka 20 (S&P SL20) Index, with Central Finance Company PLC (CFIN) set to replace Distilleries Company of Sri Lanka PLC (DIST) following the 2025 mid-year rebalancing by S&P Dow Jones Indices.

The revision will take effect from the start of trading on Monday, June 23, 2025, following the market close on Friday, June 20.

The S&P SL20 Index tracks the performance of the 20 largest and most liquid stocks listed on the CSE, selected based on criteria such as market capitalization, trading liquidity, and financial viability. Constituents are weighted by float-adjusted market capitalization, with a 15% cap applied to limit single-stock concentration.

Stocks eligible for inclusion must have a float-adjusted market capitalization exceeding Rs. 500 million, a median daily value traded of at least Rs. 250,000 over six months, and positive net income over the prior 12 months.
