“Champions of the tournament : Haleys Fenton team with their trophies”
The first-ever Hira–Mackie Champions Trophy 2025 was successfully held on August 30th at the Thurstan College Grounds, bringing together over 150 professionals from Sri Lanka’s Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, (MEP) Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning (HVAC), and Civil Engineering sectors.
Organized with the objective of strengthening industry resilience, networking, and wellbeing, the event marked the beginning of what is set to become an annual sporting tradition for the sector.
The tournament featured 16 corporate teams, with Hayleys Fentons and Tudawe Brothers making it to the grand finals. In an exciting match, Hayleys Fentons secured the championship title, scoring 110 for 3 wickets, while Tudawe Brothers concluded their innings at 68 for 6 wickets.
Special awards were presented to recognize outstanding performances, including:
● DYNAIR Bowling Star – Y.R.C. Adikaram, Hayleys Fentons Limited
● Diamond Walraven Batting Star – P.N.C. Rathnasiri, Tudawe Engineering Services (Pvt) Ltd
● CW Mackie Game Changer – A.R.M.D.S. Wijesinghe, Hayleys Fentons Limited
● Aerofoam Cheering Champions – Sanken Construction (Pvt) Ltd & Kent Engineers (Pvt) Ltd
The event was graced by Mr. Ravi Wadhwani – Director Global Sales and Ms. Medina Mathew – Global Marketing Manager, underscoring the significance of the Hira Group and CW Mackie partnership in strengthening the local construction industry.
