Last week the foreign media reported that India’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki would recall over one lakh units of its popular models - Ertiga, Swift and DZire – to replace faulty fuel filler necks.

To find out whether this recall would affect vehicles sold in the Sri Lankan market, AdaderanaBiz contacted Maruti Suzuki agents in Sri Lanka, Associated Motorways General Manager – After Sales, Chaminda Wanigaratne.

He gave an assurance that this recall would not affect any vehicles sold in Sri Lanka.

However, Maruti Suzuki had announced last week that it would recall over one lakh units of its popular models - Ertiga, Swift and DZire – to replace faulty fuel filler necks.

Currently, Maruti Suzuki enjoys nearly 40 percent of Sri Lanka’s light vehicle or motorcar market.
