FINEXT 2025 Career Fair of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura Connects Undergraduates with Leading Industry Partners

FINEXT 2025, the annual career fair organised by the Students’ Association of Finance of the Department of Finance, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, was successfully conducted recently, providing undergraduates with valuable exposure to leading organisations across the finance, technology, and professional services sectors. The event continued to strengthen its reputation as a key platform that bridges academia with industry, preparing students for globally relevant career pathways.

The event commenced with a highly engaging panel discussion themed “Export-Oriented Knowledge and Professional Services Sector,” conducted in collaboration with CFA Society Sri Lanka as the Professional Partner for FINEXT 2025. The session attracted a large audience of undergraduates and highlighted the growing opportunities available for finance and investment professionals within globally integrated markets. The discussion underscored the increasing demand for analytical, research-driven, and internationally aligned skill sets within the financial and investment sectors.

The panel featured senior industry representatives from the event’s co-partner organisations, including GTN Tech (Pvt) Ltd, Uzabase Sri Lanka, and Acuity Analytics (formerly known as Acuity Knowledge Partners), alongside CFA Society Sri Lanka. Mr. Avindra Vidanage, Head of Global Middle Office at GTN Tech; Mr. Zohair Haiderally, Director – Edge Contents Team at Uzabase Sri Lanka; Mr. Nuwan Jayawardana,CFA,  Director and Sri Lanka Head of Buy-Side Research at Acuity Analytics; and Ms. Rashmi Peiris Paranavitane, CFA, President of CFA Society Sri Lanka, shared insights on international exposure, evolving industry expectations, and emerging career pathways for finance and investment professionals in the export-oriented knowledge and professional services sector.

Following the panel discussion, the career fair segment enabled direct engagement between undergraduates and industry representatives. Students actively participated in interviews for internship and employment opportunities while gaining first-hand insights into organisational cultures, recruitment expectations, and the skills required to succeed in competitive professional environments.

A wide range of reputed organisations participated in FINEXT 2025, representing diverse segments of the financial and professional services landscape. These included Acuity Analytics, GTN Tech (Pvt) Ltd, Uzabase Sri Lanka, Vidullanka PLC, NDB Capital Holdings Limited, Rhino Roofing Products Limited, Union Assurance PLC, First Capital Holdings PLC, WealthTrust Securities Limited, Patamar Capital, Senfin Securities Ltd, Softlogic Stockbrokers (Pvt) Ltd, Capital Alliance Holdings Limited, EY Sri Lanka, BDO Partners, Ascent Business Solutions, and Dyno Innovations (Private) Limited.

The overall atmosphere of FINEXT 2025 reflected strong professional engagement and meaningful interactions between students and employers. The event successfully reinforced its role as a strategic platform that connects academic learning with real-world industry expectations, while expanding professional horizons and career readiness among finance undergraduates of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
