Trading at the Colombo Stock Exchange ended on a positive note on Wednesday (18), with both main indices closing higher and the S&P SL20 reaching a historic milestone.

The All Share Price Index (ASPI) gained 37.02 points to close at 23,919.84, while the S&P SL20 index advanced 41.79 points to 6,750.50, marking the first time in history the index has crossed the 6,750 level.

Market turnover for the session amounted to Rs. 5.66 billion. Domestic purchases totalled Rs. 5.55 billion, while domestic sales stood at Rs. 5.37 billion. Foreign purchases were recorded at Rs. 109 million, compared with foreign sales of Rs. 292 million, resulting in a net foreign outflow for the day.
