Trading activity picked up at the Colombo Stock Exchange on Thursday (26), with turnover nearing the Rs. 5 billion mark, reflecting improved investor participation compared to recent sessions.

The All Share Price Index (ASPI) gained 78.13 points to close at 23,781.23, while the S&P SL20 Index rose 24.90 points to end at 6,710.17, indicating broad based positive momentum across the market.

Total market turnover for the day amounted to Rs. 4.91 billion.

In terms of market participation, domestic purchases stood at Rs. 4.66 billion against domestic sales of Rs. 4.85 billion. Meanwhile, foreign investors recorded purchases worth Rs. 249 million and sales totaling Rs. 55 million, resulting in a net foreign inflow for the session.
