The Royal - Thomian Golfers’ Guild is proud to present the Royal -Thomian Old Boys Golf Match - a landmark event that celebrates the enduring legacy of sporting excellence and spirited rivalry between Royal College and S. Thomas’ College. The tournament will be held on 8th March 2026, at the Royal Colombo Golf Club, bringing together tradition, competition, and camaraderie in true Royal -Thomian style.

The Fred De Saram Trophy was first presented in 1970 and for over five decades this annual encounter has brought together generations of Royalists and Thomians, further strengthening the longstanding ties between the two institutions while fostering a shared commitment to the game of golf. What began as a cordial alumni gathering has evolved into one of Sri Lanka’s most coveted golfing events, attracting both accomplished veterans and emerging players from the esteemed alumni bodies of both schools.

This year promises another such highly anticipated encounter. The Royal College side will be led by Captain Gamini Jayaweera and Vice-Captain Andy Anderson, while St. Thomas’ College will take the course under Captain Rohan Fernando and Vice-Captain Arjun Dharmadasa. With strong leadership on both sides, the stage is set for a fiercely competitive contest played with true sportsmanship that embodies the Royal - Thomian spirit.

The historic Royal Colombo Golf Club, renowned for its rich heritage and challenging fairways, serves as the perfect backdrop for this prestigious encounter - a test of precision, strategy, and composure.
