A large-scale medical and legal community service camp, targeting over 500 individuals, was held on March 28 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Dharmasoka College, Ambalangoda, with Royal Nursing Home (Pvt) Ltd. as the Platinum Sponsor. The initiative was organized by the Ceylon Excellence Lions Club of Colombo with the STEMI Forum, the Sri Lanka Medical Association, and the Dharmasoka College Old Boys’ Association. The programme was chaired by Club President (2021–2026) Mr. Ayesh de Silva and included Consultant Physician Dr. Manilka Sumanatilaka, Consultant Physician Dr. Gothabaya Ranasinghe, Surgeon Dr. Nalitha N. Wijesundara, Surgeon Dr. Kugadas Sudarshana, Dr. Hashini Wijesekara, and Dr. Piyadigama.
Legal aid services were offered under President’s Counsel Kaushalya Navaratne, former President of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka. Welfare initiatives such as distributing wheelchairs and sports equipment were also carried out. With an investment of nearly LKR 3 million, the project reflected strong commitment to community welfare. The event was graced by District Governor Mr. Mahesh Boralgoda. Mr. Manuja Hewawasam, Chairman of Royal Nursing Home and Senior Vice President of the Club, attended as Guest of Honour and Platinum Sponsor. Also present were Cabinet Secretary Lion Danushka Sandanayake, Cabinet Treasurer Lion Samith Mapalagama, and former IGP Mr. C. D. Wickramaratne.
