CEAT Kelani Holdings has strengthened its leadership in Sri Lanka’s two-wheeler tyre market with the launch of the X5 series of its premium motorcycle and scooter tyre ranges – ‘GRIPP’ and ‘ZOOM’ – which are engineered to deliver higher mileage, enhanced safety and superior performance for modern riding needs.

The new tyres respond to the growing demand among youth and urban commuters for tyres that combine durability, control and confident handling with a bold, premium aesthetic. Designed specifically for Sri Lankan road and weather conditions, GRIPP X5 and ZOOM X5 elevate everyday commuting and leisure riding by offering a refined balance of stability, grip and braking efficiency on both dry and wet surfaces, the company said.

Commenting on the latest products, CEAT Kelani Holdings Chief Operating Officer, Mr Shamal Gunawardene said: “These new tyres reflect our sharp focus on evolving rider expectations in Sri Lanka’s two-wheeler market. As riding patterns change and demand grows for higher performance, safety and premium styling, these tyres deliver world-class design and engineering solutions that are responsive to local road conditions and customer requirements.”

The ZOOM X5 tyre is developed for front-wheel fitment and is optimised to deliver stability and precise handling. Its continuous centre groove enhances straight-line control, while optimised angular grooves improve water dispersion, translating to better handling and traction on wet roads. Additional circumferential grooves at the shoulder, supported by knurling, enhance stability during leaning, giving riders greater confidence when manoeuvring in traffic or negotiating turns. A high-grip tread compound and sipes in the tread pattern further improve traction on dry roads, ensuring dependable performance across varied riding conditions.

The GRIPP X5, designed for rear-wheel applications, focuses on traction, control and durability under load. A larger centre block area improves straight-line traction, while stiffer shoulder blocks with diamond knurling provide better control during leaning. Specially designed angular grooves enhance aquaplaning resistance, improving grip and safety on wet roads, while a high-grip tread compound ensures strong traction on dry surfaces. Together, these features support higher mileage, stable handling at speed and dependable braking performance, making GRIPP X5 suitable for both daily commuting and longer rides.

Beyond performance, both tyre ranges feature enhanced sidewall and tread design aesthetics, including tessellation patterns and shoulder window designs that give motorcycles and scooters a distinctive, premium look. The combination of visual appeal and functional engineering reinforces CEAT’s positioning as a brand that delivers performance with style.

The premium range is available in four key sizes, covering many of the most popular two-wheelers in Sri Lanka. GRIPP X5 in the 3.00–17 size is designed for models such as the Bajaj CT 100, Bajaj Platina, Bajaj Discover 100 and 110, TVS Sport ELS, TVS Metro Plus, Honda CD 125 and CD 200 Roadmaster, Yamaha SR 125 and Bajaj Boxer.
