Trading activity at the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) remained subdued on Friday (17), with daily turnover falling to its lowest level in the past 15 months.

Market turnover amounted to Rs. 722 million at the close of trading, marking the lowest daily turnover since April 17, 2025, when the market recorded Rs. 792 million.

Today's session also marked the first time since April 22, 2025, that daily turnover slipped below the Rs. 1 billion mark. On that day, the CSE recorded a turnover of Rs. 990 million.

Meanwhile, both benchmark indices ended the session lower. The All Share Price Index (ASPI) declined by 42.16 points to close at 21,405.41, while the S&P SL20 Index fell by 5.31 points to 5,999.68.
