July, 28, 2026

Janashakthi Life, the flagship life insurance company of JXG (Janashakthi Group), has been recognised among Sri Lanka’s 50 Best Workplaces™ for 2026 by Great Place To Work® Sri Lanka. The 50 recognised workplaces comprise 17 Large, 13 Medium, 10 Small, and 10 Micro workplaces, with Janashakthi Life recognised in the Medium category, comprising organisations with 251–500 employees.

Janashakthi Life’s recognition reflects the strength of its workplace culture and leadership, as well as its continued focus on fostering an inclusive environment where employees feel respected, supported, and empowered to grow. The results highlight collaboration, a strong sense of belonging, long-term association with the organisation, and a fun and engaging workplace as key strengths of its culture.

The recognition is based on the Great Place To Work® Trust Index™ Employee Experience Survey, which evaluates employees’ experiences of trust, pride, and workplace relationships, alongside a Culture Audit™ that assesses the organisation’s people practices. The Trust Index™ contributes 75% of the overall score, while the Culture Audit™ accounts for the remaining 25%. Janashakthi Life’s inclusion follows its Great Place To Work® Certified™ status and an 88% Employee Trust Index™ score achieved in 2025, reinforcing the consistency of its employee experience and workplace practices.

“Being recognised among Sri Lanka’s 50 Best Workplaces™, together with the strong sense of inclusivity and camaraderie experienced by our employees, reflects the strength of our culture and the leadership philosophy that shapes our workplace. The endorsement of our employees is a great encouragement to further strengthen our workplace and reinforce the values we all live by. Our values of respect, collaboration, and integrity are strongly reflected in the Great Place To Work® workplace health indicators, while being performance-driven and embracing innovation remain firmly embedded in our culture. It is particularly encouraging to note that our team members feel they are given equal opportunities, empowered to contribute, and supported with the guidance needed to reach their fullest potential,” said Ravi Liyanage, Director/CEO of Janashakthi Insurance PLC.

“This achievement reflects the collective commitment of our people and leaders to building a people-centred and values-driven culture where wellbeing, growth, and high performance go hand in hand. We remain committed to further strengthening this culture and the employee experience,” said Danushka Seneth D. Samarasinghe, Head of Human Resources at Janashakthi Insurance PLC.

Janashakthi Life has long been recognised as a caring employer, with performance and innovation equally embedded in its culture. Its people strategy is anchored in bringing the organisation’s core values to life through the everyday employee experience, underpinned by proactive and progressive practices that evolve with changing workforce expectations.

Central to this is the continuous reskilling and upskilling of people managers at all levels, recognising their critical role in shaping culture, developing talent, and enabling performance. Continuous learning and growth provide employees with opportunities to realise their potential, while flexible and hybrid ways of working offer greater autonomy and accommodate differing needs. An open and collaborative work environment further encourages participation, the exchange of ideas, and innovation across the organisation.

Meaningful engagement and holistic wellbeing are integral to this experience, with initiatives designed to foster creativity, connection, and a genuine sense of belonging, while supporting employees beyond their roles at work. Recognising the diversity of its workforce and the differing expectations that come with it, Janashakthi Life avoids a one-size-fits-all approach, tailoring initiatives to different employee segments and needs to create an experience that remains relevant, inclusive, and meaningful.
