Spa Ceylon Launches Sri Lanka’s First Nature Trail Wellness Run, Redefining the Modern Running Experience

July, 31, 2026

More than 400 participants gathered at the scenic Diyatha Uyana Nature Trail on 18th July as Spa Ceylon hosted Sri Lanka's first Nature Trail Wellness Run, introducing a new approach to community wellness by transforming the traditional running event into a complete wellbeing experience.

Held at sunrise, the run began promptly at 6.00 a.m., inviting participants to embrace one of nature's most restorative moments. Set amongst lush greenery, tranquil waterways and open parklands, the carefully selected trail encouraged runners to reconnect with the outdoors while experiencing the benefits of gentle morning sunlight, fresh air and movement in nature.

Inspired by Spa Ceylon's philosophy of bringing Ayurveda into modern lifestyles, the event extended far beyond the finish line. Participants were invited to explore a series of thoughtfully curated wellness experiences including yoga sessions, guided recovery rituals, sun care and after-sun stations, ForestVeda wellness discovery experiences, muscle recovery treatments, healthy refreshments and interactive community spaces designed to encourage meaningful conversations and human connection.

The Nature Trail Wellness Run reimagined the traditional running event by combining the excitement of competition with a more holistic wellness experience. Alongside the run itself, participants were invited to explore a series of wellness experiences designed to support recovery, encourage connection with nature and inspire healthier everyday habits - creating an event that celebrated not just the finish line, but the overall journey to wellbeing.

The event forms part of Spa Ceylon's wider vision of creating immersive wellness experiences that bring people closer to nature while showcasing Sri Lanka's unique strengths as a globally recognised wellness destination. Rooted in the ancient art of Ayurveda and perfected through modern science, Spa Ceylon continues to create experiences that celebrate the healing energy of the island while inspiring healthier, more balanced lifestyles.

Speaking about the event, Shiwantha Dias, Co-Founder of Spa Ceylon, said: "For us, wellness has never been about products alone. It's about creating meaningful experiences that inspire healthier lifestyles and encourage people to reconnect - with themselves, with others and with nature. The Nature Trail Wellness Run was designed to show that movement can be joyful, restorative and something that brings communities together."

Shalin Balasuriya, Co-Founder of Spa Ceylon, added: "Running has become one of the most popular forms of recreation, but we wanted to take it beyond the run itself and weave wellness into the experience. That's at the heart of our philosophy—that wellness shouldn't be something we pursue occasionally, but something that's naturally woven into everyday life. As Sri Lanka gains recognition as one of the world's leading wellness destinations, we're committed to bringing that vision to life through immersive experiences across the island that reconnect people with nature, with each other and with themselves. The Nature Trail Wellness Run is just the beginning."

The Spa Ceylon Nature Trail Wellness Run marks the beginning of a new series of wellness-led community experiences from the luxury Ayurveda wellness chain, as the brand continues its mission of making wellbeing more accessible while celebrating the healing traditions and natural beauty of this island.
