Janashakthi Finance PLC, a subsidiary of JXG (Janashakthi Group), has opened the financial year 2026/27 with strong growth across key performance indicators, recording a 51% year-on-year increase in Net Profit After Tax (NPAT) to Rs. 90.4Mn for the period ended 30th June 2026 (compared to Rs. 59.9Mn in Q1 FY 2025/26).
The Company recorded Profit Before Tax (PBT) of Rs. 138.2Mn, reflecting a 27.1% year-on-year increase (compared to Rs. 108.8Mn), while Net Operating Income grew 24.7% to Rs. 837.8Mn, compared to Rs. 671.6Mn recorded during the corresponding period of the previous financial year.
The strong improvement in profitability was supported by continued growth in the Company’s core lending business. Loans and Receivables Portfolio expanded to Rs. 34.5Bn, compared to Rs. 23.8Bn a year earlier, representing a 44.7% year-on-year increase.
Meanwhile, the Company maintained a stable deposit base, with deposits reaching Rs. 18.3Bn, compared to Rs. 16.9Bn in the corresponding period of the previous year, recording an 8.1% year-on-year increase.
Commenting on the performance, Rajendra Theagarajah, Chairman of Janashakthi Finance PLC, said, “Janashakthi Finance has made a strong start to the new financial year, with much improved growth in profitability and continued expansion of its core business. The 51% increase in net profit is a clear indication of the progress being made in strengthening the Company’s financial performance.
