The Event Management Association of Sri Lanka (EMA) represented the nation at EEMAGINE 2026, one of India’s leading annual conventions for the event and entertainment industry, marking another significant step in strengthening Sri Lanka’s presence within the regional events community.

The Sri Lankan delegation comprised of Mr. Saliya Weerasekera, President, EMA, Mr. Roshan Wijeyaratne, the Inaugural President and Advisory Council Member, and Ms. Suranga Fernando.  Their participation provided an opportunity to engage with leading professionals from across the regional event management and entertainment industry, while gaining insights into emerging trends, sharing experiences and strengthening professional networks.

A key highlight of the convention was the special invitation extended to Mr. Saliya Weerasekera to take the stage and present awards during the event. The recognition provided a significant moment for Sri Lanka’s event management industry, placing its leadership alongside prominent figures from the regional events community.

Mr. Saliya Weerasekera, President of EMA, said, “It was a great honour to be invited on stage to present awards at EEMAGINE 2026. For me, and for EMA, this represents more than a personal recognition; it is an acknowledgement of the contribution and capabilities of Sri Lanka’s event professionals. We are grateful to the organisers of EEMAGINE for this opportunity and for welcoming the Sri Lankan delegation. Platforms such as these allow us to learn from the region, share our own experiences and build stronger connections that can contribute to the continued growth of our industry.”

The participation of EMA at EEMAGINE 2026 also reflects the association’s continued commitment to creating opportunities for Sri Lankan event professionals to engage with the wider international and regional industry. Through knowledge exchange, networking and greater exposure to global practices, EMA continues to support the development and recognition of Sri Lanka’s event management sector.

The presence of the Sri Lankan delegation, together with the President’s invitation to present awards, serves as a proud representation of the growing recognition of Sri Lanka’s event management expertise beyond the local market. It also reinforces EMA’s role in connecting Sri Lankan professionals with the wider regional events ecosystem and creating opportunities for the local industry to engage on an international stage.
