Continues as Diamond Sponsor and Official Banking Partner for the fifth consecutive year

Women entrepreneurs building businesses across Sri Lanka will once again be recognised through the WCIC Prathibhabhisheka Women Entrepreneur Awards, supported by DFCC Bank as Diamond Sponsor and Official Banking Partner for the fifth consecutive year through DFCC Aloka.

The five-year association reflects a shared objective: to give women entrepreneurs greater recognition and visibility, together with access to the financial knowledge, networks and opportunities that can help their enterprises grow.

Commenting on the partnership, Thimal Perera, Director and Chief Executive Officer of DFCC Bank, said, “Women entrepreneurs do not need support for one evening. Businesses take time to establish, survive and grow, and the institutions supporting them must be prepared to stay the course. They are employers, exporters, innovators and taxpayers. Helping more of their businesses succeed is not simply a question of inclusion. It is an economic opportunity for Sri Lanka. Our responsibility as a banking partner is to understand what each entrepreneur wants to build next and help her prepare for that stage.”

The WCIC Prathibhabhisheka Women Entrepreneur Awards recognise women across different stages of enterprise throughout Sri Lanka, from those establishing their first businesses to those leading more mature companies. By bringing their work into public view, the awards can strengthen their credibility and introduce their businesses to a wider community of customers, partners and peers.

DFCC Aloka brings together banking solutions, financial knowledge, advisory support and opportunities for women to connect and learn. Its purpose is practical: to help more women establish businesses, manage them effectively and prepare for their next stage of growth.

The partnership brings together WCIC’s understanding and reach among women-led enterprises with DFCC Bank’s financial expertise and capacity to support their businesses over the longer term.

The gains created by a successful woman-led business extend beyond its founder. They reach employees, families, suppliers and communities, creating a broader base for economic participation and growth.
