Inspired by a commitment to contribute to the advancement and financial wellbeing of all Sri Lankans, Arpico Insurance PLC has offered a fully funded Education Insurance Policy to Danoj Theekshana Weerasekara, the Island First student who scored 193 marks, which is the highest overall score achieved in the Sinhala medium in the country, at the 2026 Grade 5 Scholarship Examination held recently. A student of Ahatuwewa Model Primary School in the Kurunegala district, the young achiever reached the top despite facing significant hardship and limited resources. The policy, officially handed over to the student’s father, is named the Arpico School Fees Plan and is designed to guarantee long-term financial security and support throughout the child's academic journey.
The official presentation ceremony, which coincided with World Children’s Day, took place at the Richard Pieris & Company premises in Navinna, Maharagama. The initiative underscores Arpico Insurance PLC’s corporate vision of protecting the future aspirations of the country's most promising talent and it’s commitment to contribute to the advancement and financial wellbeing of all Sri Lankans.
Dignitaries present at the event included Mr. Ramal Jasinghe, Chairman of Arpico Insurance PLC, and Mr. Jayalal Hewawasam, Chief Executive Officer and Principal Officer of Arpico Insurance PLC. The occasion was further honored by the presence of Mrs. Damayanthi Fernando, Director General of the Insurance Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (IRCSL), and Mrs. Deepika Navarathne, Director of Market Development and External Relations at the IRCSL, alongside members of the senior management team of Arpico Insurance PLC.
