Serendib Flour Mills (Pvt) Ltd. has launched the Serendib Flour Master’s Club, a dedicated platform created to support Sri Lanka’s growing home-baking community by offering opportunities to learn, connect and grow.

The club was officially inaugurated on 17th September 2026 at Sheraton Colombo, marking an important milestone in Serendib Flour Mills’ continued efforts to empower individuals who are transforming their passion for baking into meaningful entrepreneurial opportunities.

The launch event brought together a vibrant community of home bakers, industry professionals and special invitees, including Mr. Ravindra Ranjith and Chef Shiroma Perera from Colombo Academy of Hospitality Management, Chef Dhushanthi Madanayake, Physiotherapist Ms. Nilakshi Kasilingam, and Ms. Kawshalya Karunarathne from the Institute of Business Advancement.

Established with the vision of creating a supportive and knowledge-driven community, the Serendib Flour Master’s Club aims to help home bakers develop practical skills, gain business insights and build the confidence needed to progress from passionate hobbyists to capable baking entrepreneurs.

Speaking at the launch Amitav Basak, CEO of Serendib Flour Mills, said: , “The Serendib Flour Master’s Club reflects our commitment to supporting the people behind Sri Lanka’s baking community. Home bakers play an increasingly important role in entrepreneurship, income generation and creativity, and through this platform, we hope to provide them with the knowledge, guidance and community support needed to grow.”

Through the club, members will have access to knowledge-sharing sessions, practical workshops, expert-led learning experiences and community activities. These sessions will cover areas related to both baking and business, including product development, business management, marketing, packaging, food standards, certifications and other essential aspects of building a successful home-based baking venture.

The initiative also reflects Serendib Flour Mills’ commitment to being more than a flour supplier, by actively contributing to the development of the wider baking ecosystem in Sri Lanka. As home baking continues to open new pathways for entrepreneurship and income generation, platforms such as the Serendib Flour Master’s Club can play an important role in connecting passion with knowledge and opportunity.

The inauguration created a space for home bakers from different backgrounds and stages of their entrepreneurial journeys to exchange experiences, learn from experts and build stronger connections within the community.
