Sri Lanka Insurance Life (SLIC Life), the nation’s most trusted life insurance provider, recently hosted its prestigious Star Awards 2026 at Shangri-La Colombo, in a grand celebration dedicated to recognising exceptional sales excellence. Held under the inspiring theme “Ignite the Extraordinary,” the awards honoured outstanding achievers whose exceptional performance, determination and commitment contributed to another remarkable year of growth and success for SLIC Life.

The theme “Ignite the Extraordinary” reflects the spirit of a sales force that continues to challenge boundaries, transform ambition into achievement and set new benchmarks of excellence. The evening celebrated individuals who went beyond expectations, demonstrating that extraordinary results are built on passion, perseverance and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

Over 390 high-performing achievers were recognised across a range of categories, including Best Insurance Advisors, Best Group Leaders, Best Team Leaders, Best Branch Managers and Best Regional Managers, as well as outstanding performers across the Bancassurance channel, comprising Relationship Officers, Relationship Managers, Area Managers, Cluster Managers and Channel Managers. Special Awards were also presented under each category in recognition of exceptional accomplishments.

Among the evening’s most distinguished achievers were All Island Best of the Best Regional Manager Mr. A. Supesan (Northern Region), All Island Best of the Best Branch Manager Mr. T. Gobinath (Jaffna Branch), All Island Best of the Best Group Leader Mr. B. J. Jude (Jaffna Branch), All Island Best of the Best Team Leader Mr. W. S. Lakmal (Gampaha Branch), All Island Best of the Best Advisor Mr. M. M. S. K. Nawaratne (Kandy Main Branch), and All Island Best of the Best Relationship Manager – Bancassurance Ms. S. Shobitha. Their achievements reflected the breadth of talent and the strength of SLIC Life’s island wide sales network.

Commenting on the achievements of the sales team, Dr. Sameera Dharmasena, Chief Executive Officer of Sri Lanka Insurance Life, said, “Our sales team has demonstrated time and again that it possesses the capability, resilience and commitment to achieve what may seem difficult. The prestigious event was graced by the Board of Directors, Chief Executive Officers of Sri Lanka Insurance Life and Sri Lanka Insurance General, Corporate Management Team and members of the sales force. The ceremony also recognised distinguished members of the newly introduced Champions Circle and Premier Circle, celebrating those who have consistently demonstrated outstanding performance and reinforced SLIC Life’s culture of excellence.

Star Awards 2026 concluded by celebrating the achievements of a sales force that continues to raise the bar for excellence. The event reaffirmed SLIC Life’s confidence in its people and their potential to drive future growth, deliver superior value to customers and advance the organisation’s journey towards becoming the number one life insurer in the country.
