The solution brings together an AI-powered Knowledge Assistant and an Alloy Optimization System. The Knowledge Assistant enables employees to access standard operating procedures (SOPs) and production information through natural language conversations, while the Alloy Optimization System supports cost-effective alloy formulation, material selection and inventory utilisation.

Built on Azure and powered by Azure AI Foundry, the multilingual Knowledge Assistant enables employees to retrieve critical operational information in both English and Sinhala through natural language conversations, making essential knowledge more accessible to teams on the production floor. The Alloy Optimization System uses advanced Integer Linear Programming (ILP) models to determine optimal material combinations, improve stock utilisation and support production planning across multiple alloy types, helping Alumex optimise material costs and manufacturing efficiency.
