Prominent lawyer and Sri Lanka Bar Association president Upul Jayasuriya has been appointed Chairman and Director General of the Sri Lanka Board of Investment by President Maithripala Sirisena.

While not new to the Sri Lanka Board of Investment, Upul Jayasuriya functioned as the legal advisor to the Greater Colombo Economic Commission of Sri Lanka in 1978.

The Sri Lanka Board of Investment is under the purview of the Ministry of Highways and Investment Development under Minister Kabeer Hashim and Eran Wickremaratne as his Deputy Minister.
