AMW Extends Relief Assistance to 1,000 Families Affected by Ditwah Cyclone

Associated Motorways (Private) Limited (AMW) extended timely humanitarian assistance to communities affected by the recent Ditwah Cyclone by handing over a consignment of essential relief packs to the Disaster Management Centre (DMC), supporting ongoing national disaster response efforts.

The initiative is expected to benefit 1,000 affected families, with each family receiving a relief pack comprising essential food items, basic medication, and other daily necessities to address immediate needs during the recovery period.

The handover took place in the presence of Major General Sampath Kotuwegoda (Retd.), ndc, IG, Director General of the Disaster Management Centre, who acknowledged AMW’s prompt intervention and the role of private sector collaboration in strengthening disaster relief operations.

Representing AMW at the event were Mr. Prasanna De Silva, Director – Sales; Mr. Sahan Jayawardena, General Manager – Planning & Product; and Mr. Udara Gunasinghe, Head of Marketing.

AMW representatives reiterated that the company’s commitment to social responsibility is rooted in supporting communities during times of hardship. The organisation continues to work closely with relevant authorities to ensure its CSR initiatives deliver practical, on-the-ground impact where it is most needed.
