The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) ended trading on Monday (05) on a strong note, with the All Share Price Index (ASPI) once again closing above the key 23,000-point level.
The ASPI had last crossed the 23,000-point threshold on November 20, 2025. Prior to that, the market recorded its all-time high on November 12, 2025, when the index reached 23,659.7 points. A subsequent gradual decline saw the ASPI slip below the 23,000 mark, making Monday’s close the first return above the level since November 20.
At the close of trading, the ASPI stood at 23,014.75 points, reflecting a gain of 150.67 points or 0.66 percent compared to the previous trading day.
Meanwhile, the S&P SL20 Index also posted gains, rising by 41.35 points to close at 6,227.44.
Market turnover remained strong, with trading activity amounting to Rs. 5.77 billion for the day.
