Hemasiri Fernando, who is the incumbent president of the National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka and functioned for some time as Chairman Sri Lanka Telecom has been appointed the new Chairman of the People’s Bank.

Hemasiri Fernando told www.adaderanabiz.lk that he received the letter of appointment this afternoon and that he would assume his new duties shortly.

He also functioned earlier as secretary to former Prime Minister Sirimavo Bandaranaike.
