Browns Investments PLC has sold its entire 9.99% stake in Hatton National Bank (HNB) today (May 27), in one of the largest recent stock market transactions.

The 45.3 million shares were traded at Rs. 305 each via a crossing, generating Rs. 13.82 billion in turnover.

Capital Alliance Securities (Pvt) Ltd acted as the broker for the buyer and facilitated 60% of the trade on behalf of the seller, Browns Investments PLC.

The transaction pushed today’s market turnover past Rs. 15 billion within the first two hours.
