The 1996 ICC World Cup winning cricket captain Arjuna Ranatunga has criticized the Sri Lanka Cricket decision to offer USD 1.5 million to the Sri Lankan cricketers who won the ICC Twenty20 World Cup.

Inducing match victories while dangling cash offers is a lowly act, said ‘Captain Cool’ Arjuna while expressing his views on the issue to the media.

The value of this cash to be offered by SLC to the Twenty20 World Cup winning Sri Lankan team amounts to Sri Lankan Rupees 193.5 million.
