The Chief Internal Auditor’s Forum of Banks appointed its 7th committee at the Annual General Meeting held on 30th July 2025. Dulan Abeyratne (HSBC) was appointed as the President, Saaraa Warnakulasooriya (NTB) as Vice President, Jeyabalasingam Pirathapan (SCB) as Secretary, and Jayan Fernando (DFCC) as Treasurer. Other members of the committee include Numair Cassim [Amana Bank (Immediate Past President)], Ruwani de Silva (NDB), Chandima Samarasinghe (Union Bank), Charith Leelarathne (PABC), Mahesh Paranawidana (MCB), and Sanjaya Mallawarachchi (Cargills Bank).

The Forum was established to build strong relationships amongst the Licensed Commercial Banks and Licensed Specialized Banks in dealing with new developments and challenges pertinent to the industry. It encourages participation of Banks to share knowledge and industry best practices, and also supports Internal Audit professionals to build their network. Since re-establishing in 2015, the forum has become an integral body that supports and assists Banks with common audit related issues within the industry.
