Cost, transparency key factors in customers swapping network says CEO of Bharti Airtel Lanka

Speaking to Ada Derena exclusively, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Bharti Airtel Lanka, Jinesh Hegde said, more transparent and quickly accessible information about customer service performance could expand the number of customers who might take it into account in choosing a mobile service provider.

“Currently in this market there are a lot of offers, those offers there are a lot of complications like day offer night offer, peak-time and non-peak time”, “We did a research. During our research we found out many customers didn’t understand what production services they were buying, what they were consuming. There were a lot of dissatisfactions because the tariff was not very clear, the products were not very transparent” Hegde added.

Speaking further hedge noted that Sri Lanka should adapted the idea of Mobile Number Portability, that will make it easier for customers to switch operators retaining the same mobile number driving higher competition and competitive pricing for people.
