The Sri Lanka Credit Information Bureau (CRIB) has issued the most number of credit information reports per month during last March and this shows the rising demand for borrowings, said the CRIB Deputy General Manager.
CRIB Deputy General Manager K.A. Janaka Lakmal told www.adaderanabiz.lk that when compared to March 2014, the Bureau has indicated a huge increase of 73 per cent in credit information reports issued in March 2015.
“During the first quarter of this year the number of credit information reports obtained from us by banks and financial institutions shows an increase of some 56 per cent when compared to the same period last year. There is an increasing trend for even smaller financial institutions to obtain credit information while considering the risks,” added Janaka Lakmal.
