CSE operations will resume tomorrow

The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) has announced that trading and market operations will resume tomorrow (20th March 2020) after remaining closed for four days amidst the Coronavirus outbreak in Sri Lanka.

However, the market will not operate under normal trading hours from  9.30 am to 2.30 pm tomorrow, CSE's Chief Regulatory Officer Renuke Wijayawardhane said.

Accordingly, The revised Trading hours are set out below:

Pre-open session - from 09.30 a.m. to 10.00 a.m.

Open Auction - at 10.00 a.m.

Regular Trading - will commence after the Open Auction at 10.00 a.m.

Market close - at 1.00 p.m.

Meanwhile, In view of the Government declaring a period of six (6) working days from 20th to 27th March 2020 for employees of the public and private sectors to work from home, the CSE requests the Member Firms/Trading Members to follow suit to the extent possible.

Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE), in consultation with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC), had closed the market for four days until today (19) to minimize public interactions in curbing the spread of COVID-19 and to ensure the safety of all market participants.
