Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL), Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe, was recognised with the prestigious “A Grade” award by Global Finance Magazine at the 2025 World’s Best Bank Awards Ceremony, held on the sidelines of the World Bank Group/International Monetary Fund (IMF) Annual Meetings in Washington, D.C., from October 13–18, 2025.

The accolade was awarded in recognition of Dr. Weerasinghe’s prudent monetary policy, effective supervision of the financial system, and the Central Bank’s leadership in navigating challenging global conditions.

The Sri Lankan delegation, led by Dr. Weerasinghe, also engaged in a series of high-level bilateral and multilateral meetings during the Annual Meetings, underscoring Sri Lanka’s ongoing engagement with international financial institutions.
