An international narcotics trafficker with even a pending Red Alert from Interpol, Gampola Vithanage Samantha Kumara alias Wele Suda was arrested in Pakistan and brought in to Sri Lanka.
Police Media Spokesman Senior SSP Ajith Rohana told adaderanabiz.lk that Wele Suda was currently under the custody of Sri Lankan defence authorities.
A prominent pledge given during incumbent President Maithripala Sirisena’s Presidential Election campaign was that he would take necessary action against narcotics dealers, that they would be arrested and brought to book.
Hence, observers say that with Wele Suda’s arrest more drug dealers in Sri Lanka are likely to be arrested.
