Economic growth for first three months of the year revealed

The latest government data reveals that Sri Lanka’s development has grown by 7.6 percent within the first three months of this year.

Sri Lanka’s agrarian sector has grown by 0.2 percent, the services sector by 6.5 percent and the industrial sector by 12.6 percent in the first quarter of 2014, reveals the latest data released by the Department of Census and Statistics.

The fisheries sector has contributed mainly towards the growth of the agrarian sector, the construction towards the growth of the industrial sector and the hotel and restaurant sector towards the growth of the services sector.
